Why THIEME printing system for printing on precious metals?
- Digital Image Alignment - high precision automatic alignment of
- the printed image to the position of the coins incl. compensation of
- individual coin rotation
- High quality printing (4C and white)
- Excellent adhesion with digital inline primer coating
- High resistant against abrasion with digital inline varnish coating
- Cycle time approx. 10 min per substrate reception plate
- Printing capacity approx. 380 coins/hour (depending on resolution and
- coin size)
- Ink cost per coin under 1 euro cent (reference coin ø32 mm)
- Changeable reception plates allow the printing of different coins and bars
- Medals up to max. 30 mm height
Manufacturing process
The coins will be placed without alignment in the defined hollows of the adapter plate.
The THIEME digital alignment system detects the position of each coin and produces the RIP (printing file) by combining the print layout and the coin position automatically.
The inkjet printer is printing the different inks in the following order:
- Primer
- White
- CMYK
- Varnish protection
Translucent effects are possible
Light inks and fluorescent varnish on request
